Summertime, Summertime, Summer, Summer, Summertime
Simply stated, what falls on carpets - stays on carpets, until cleaned
So it's summertime, the sun is out and the days are long. Well your carpets can actual take a pretty big beating during the summer months. Take a look at your "in to out, out to in" foot traffic, deliveries or visitors your business handles. Those front doors might be opening 50% to 70% more during this time of year. Contaminents such as pollen, dust, vehicle pollution or bbq smoke (awesome) are always entering your building through propped open windows, swinging doors, vents and air conditioners.
Now, where do you think all those molecules settle?
Yep, right down in between your carpet fibres!
Now, add to those airborne particulates a range of loose impediments tracked in by employees and visitors. Simply stated, increased foot traffic increases contaminents that damage your carpets.
- Road Grease
- Grass Clippings
- Animal Feces
- Pet Urine
The dirtier the carpet is, the more damage is being done to the fibres as abrasive soil is the main reason we end up having to replace carpets. Soil is damaging to carpet fibres which makes the carpet not reflect as much light, will darken the fibre, and causes it to lay down more and look worn out.
You can quickly see why your carpets need cleaning during the summer months… at minimum a maintenance program should be applied. Remember, each time a carpet is cleaned by CRS extraction, most of the allergens contained in carpet are removed, leaving your office healthier for employees and guests.
Add a mat at the front door - it physically reminds people to wipe their feet before coming inside helping to prevent dirt from being tracked on to your carpet.
